Every two minutes, a child dies from diseases caused by contaminated water, yet through ‘Safe Water Now’ it costs less than $2.50 to provide one person with safe water for an entire year.
WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO?
Over 2 billion people worldwide lack access to basic drinking water services. Contaminated water contributes to approximately 485,000 diarrhea deaths each year, with children under five most vulnerable. Evidence Action's dispensers allow communities to treat their water with chlorine, which kills harmful bacteria and viruses.
It costs less than $2.50 to provide one person with safe water for an entire year, making Safe Water Now remarkably cost-effective. Their dispensers are strategically placed at community water sources and maintained by local promoters, ensuring sustainable impact.
Beyond saving lives, access to safe water transforms communities. Children miss fewer school days due to illness, healthcare costs decrease, and adults can work more productively. Evidence Action estimates that every $1 invested in safe water generates approximately $5.50 in economic returns through improved health and productivity.
